Two Fed officials don't see imminent need to change monetary policy

ReutersFeb 24, 2026 8:42 PM

- Two Federal Reserve officials on Tuesday signaled no near-term appetite to change the setting of monetary policy.

“I think that it's quite likely that it'll be appropriate to hold in the current range for some time,” Federal Reserve Bank of Boston President Susan Collins said at a conference on her bank. Richmond Fed leader Thomas Barkin said that monetary policy is “well positioned” to deal with the risks around the economic outlook.
