Feb 10 (Reuters) - Greek industrial output rose by 3.9% year-on-year in December, after after an upwardly revised 4.3% increase in November, data from statistics service ELSTAT showed on Tuesday.
A breakdown of index components showed manufacturing production rose 3.8% from the same month in 2024. Electricity output was up by 1.3% year-on-year, and mining production was up by 68.2%.
The increase in mining production was the result of the annual changes of the sub-indices in the following 2-digit divisions: other mining and quarrying, mining of coal and lignite - extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas - mining support service activities, the stats office added.
Compared to the same month a year earlier, in December the greatest percentage increase was recorded in other mining and quarrying division, while the highest percentage decrease was recorded in the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers division, ELSTAT said.
