Jan 20 (Reuters) - Greece's current account deficit narrowed to 2.08 billion euros ($2.44 billion) in November, from 3.34 billion euros during the same month a year earlier, driven by a higher surplus in services and a reduced deficit in the goods balance, according to data from the Bank of Greece released on Tuesday.
The goods deficit narrowed to 2.78 billion euros in November from 3.23 billion euros a year earlier, as both oil and non‑oil imports eased. Exports of goods excluding oil and ships slipped slightly year‑on‑year, while oil exports rose, the data showed.
The services surplus improved to 675.7 million euros, from 634.0 million in November 2024, supported by stronger travel receipts as non-residents' arrivals rose by 9.7% year-on-year. Travel revenue, a major economic driver for the Mediterranean country, surged 27.7% from a year earlier, to 726.3 million euros.
In the January-November period, the current account deficit shrank by 3.0 billion euros to 10.25 billion, the Bank of Greece said.
