WASHINGTON, Sept 30 (Reuters) - The U.S. Labor Department said on Tuesday the weekly jobless claims report would not be released in the event of a government shutdown, clarifying an earlier statement.
Government funding will expire at midnight on Tuesday unless Republicans and Democrats agree to a last-minute temporary spending deal. The Labor and Commerce departments said on Monday economic data releases, including September's employment report would be halted, should the government shutdown.
