April 9 (Reuters) - Russia seeks to lure South Asian nations to buy shipments from its U.S.-sanctioned facilities with large discounts, leveraging a global natural gas supply crunch, Bloomberg News said on Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The shipments were being offered last week at a discount of 40% to spot prices via little-known intermediary companies based in China and Russia, it said.
