- The lowest price offered in the international tender from Tunisia's state grains agency on Tuesday to purchase about 100,000 metric tons of soft wheat was estimated at $274.73 a ton cost and freight (c&f) included, European traders said.

The lowest wheat offer was believed to have been submitted by Bulgarian trading house Buildcom for 25,000 tons, they said.

Offers are still being considered and no purchase has yet been reported. The lowest offer is not always accepted if conditions attached to it are regarded as unattractive.

The wheat is sought in four 25,000-ton consignments. Shipment is requested between May 5 and June 10 depending on origin supplied.

Buildcom also offered another 25,000-ton consignment at $275.74 a ton c&f.

The other lowest offers were estimated to be $275.86 a ton c&f offered separately by Cargill and Bunge for the full 100,000 tons. Trading house Casillo offered 25,000 tons at $275.49 a ton c&f.

In its last reported soft wheat tender on March 6, Tunisia's state grains agency purchased about 100,000 tons at the lowest price of $271.69 a ton c&f. Wheat prices have increased in past weeks as commodity markets rose due to the Iran war.
