SAO PAULO, March 30 (Reuters) - Brazilian state-run lender Banco do Brasil BBAS3.SA on Monday denied a media report that it was considering extending loan maturities in additional relief to farmers affected by the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran.
"Banco do Brasil informs there is neither a study nor any demand involving specific actions to extend loan maturities due to the conflicts in the Middle East," the bank said in a statement.
Bloomberg News reported earlier in the day, citing a source, that the bank was weighing fresh financial relief for farmers, including an option to defer part of their payments to the end of existing contracts.
