MOSCOW, March 30 (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone call with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to discuss cooperation in the energy sector, including oil, gas and nuclear power, the Kremlin said on Monday.
Earlier on Monday, Vucic said Serbia had secured an additional three months of gas supplies from Russia following talks between Vucic and Putin.
Serbia has close political and energy ties with Russia and depends on Moscow for most of its natural gas supplies. Belgrade has condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine but has refused to join Western sanctions, seeking to balance its ambition to join the European Union with a policy of maintaining strong relations with the Kremlin.
