HANOI, March 30 (Reuters) - Vietnam's Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical BSR.HM said on Monday that it is in talks with Russian partners to buy crude oil.
The company said it will also buy more crude oil from Africa, the United States and Southeast Asia.
"BSR is proactively working with its Russian partners on the possibility of purchasing ESPO, Sokol, and Novy Port crude oil," it said in a statement.
BSR has bought 950,000 barrels each of Nigerian Erha crude from ExxonMobil and Angolan Palanca crude from BP for June delivery, a source told Reuters.
BSR hasn't bought any Russian crude oil yet, the source said.
The 130,000-barrel-per-day refinery plans to operate at 123% of its designed capacity in the second quarter and produce 2 million tons of petroleum products, it said.
BSR aims to produce a record 8.3 million tons of petroleum products this year.
The company is expanding its oil storage capacity, with a new storage facility scheduled to go into operation in May, it said.
