CERAWEEK-Argentina's energy trade surplus could reach $11 bln this year, Tecpetrol says

- Argentina's energy trade surplus could reach $11 billion this year due to high oil and gas prices and an increasing volume of crude oil exports, the chief executive of producer Tecpetrol, Ricardo Markous, said on Wednesday.

Analysts and companies had previously estimated a surplus of between $9 billion and $10 billion for this year, but with prices rising amid the U.S.-Israel war on Iran and Argentina's crude exports expected to increase to 450,000 barrels per day (bpd) from 350,000 bpd, forecasts are being adjusted up.

The rising oil exports would offset the effect of higher costs for importing liquefied natural gas (LNG) this year, Markous told Reuters on the sidelines of the CERAWeek energy conference in Houston.
