CHICAGO, March 18 (Reuters) - Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures jumped on Wednesday on concerns about dry weather in the U.S. Southern Plains, analysts said.
Weather forecaster Vaisala said ongoing dry weather in the central and southern Plains would maintain low moisture for winter wheat over the next 30 to 60 days.
In an annual farmer survey, commodity brokerage Allendale Inc projected all U.S. wheat plantings at 44.877 million acres in 2026, down from 45.3 million last year.
Euronext wheat rose on Wednesday, recovering from a two-day fall in step with Chicago futures as the targeting of energy sites in the Gulf increased investor worries about inflation resulting from the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran.
CBOT May soft red winter wheat WK26 ended 14-1/2 cents higher at $6.04-1/4 per bushel.
K.C. May hard red winter wheat KWK26 settled up 19-1/4 cents at $6.26 per bushel.
Minneapolis May spring wheat MWEK26 rose 13 cents to finish at $6.37-1/4 per bushel.
