Russia says Belgium PM's call for normalisation of ties shows there is some sanity in Europe

MOSCOW, March 18 (Reuters) - Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday that a call by Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever to normalise relations with Moscow shows that there was still some sanity left in some parts of Europe.

De Wever's comments, in an interview with Belgian newspaper L'Echo, run counter to official EU policies to maintain a hard line against Moscow over the invasion of Ukraine and phase out the use of Russian fossil fuels.
