WASHINGTON, March 13 (Reuters) - U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins on Friday said the Trump administration was "very close" to announcing steps to help ease fertilizer costs for U.S. farmers as key materials remained stalled amid the Iran war and shipping constraints.
"We're looking at every potential avenue to keep the fertilizer costs down as these farmers are going into planting season. No big announcements yet, but it is coming," Rollins told reporters at the White House, without offering further details, adding that she has been talking to Congress about additional funds for farmers.
