LONDON, March 11 (Reuters) - Britain said on Wednesday it would contribute 13.5 million barrels of oil to a coordinated release from strategic reserves, joining other International Energy Agency members.
"With this action, the UK is playing our part in working with our international allies to address the disruption in oil markets," energy minister Ed Miliband said in a statement.
The IEA earlier recommended the release of 400 million barrels of oil, the largest such move in its history, to try to restrain soaring crude prices amid the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran.
