March 11 (Reuters) - Shipping company MSC on Wednesday announced an emergency fuel surcharge on trade from Asia to the U.S. and Canada due to a surge in bunker costs amid geopolitical tensions.
Effective from April 9, MSC said the surcharge would be $125 and $136 per 20-foot dry cargo from Asia to the east and west coasts of the U.S. and Canada respectively, and $322 and $204 per refrigerated cargo from Asia on the same basis, respectively.
