MOSCOW, March 4 (Reuters) - The Russian Foreign Ministry warned on Wednesday that Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant was under threat from U.S.-Israeli air strikes and that explosions could be heard just kilometres away from its perimeter.
Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the ministry, told a news briefing in Moscow that the bombing campaign was causing serious obstacles to the U.N nuclear watchdog's effort to monitor the situation.
Moscow hoped that the watchdog - the International Atomic Energy Agency - would provide an objective assessment of the nuclear risks posed by the U.S.-Israeli strikes, she said.
