CBOT Trends-Soy up 10-12 cents, corn up 4-6 cents, wheat up 3-5 cents

CHICAGO, March 3 (Reuters) - The following are U.S. expectations for the resumption of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade at 8:30 a.m. CST (1430 GMT) on Tuesday:

WHEAT - Up 3 to 5 cents per bushel

• CBOT wheat rebounded after ending lower on Monday in a setback from a July high.

• Concerns over the Middle East conflict encouraged short covering in grain markets, traders said.

• CBOT May soft red winter wheat WK26 was last up 3-3/4 cents at $5.81 per bushel. K.C. May hard red winter wheat KWK26 was last up 6 cents at $5.80-3/4 per bushel, and Minneapolis May spring wheat MWEK26 was up 2-1/4 cents at $6.12-1/4 per bushel.

CORN - Up 4 to 6 cents

• Gains in energy and soy prices helped boost corn futures, traders said.

• U.S. corn export demand also remains solid.

• The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported that exporters sold 196,000 metric tons of U.S. corn to unknown destinations.

• U.S. crop insurance price projections that may be used to determine indemnities for the 2026 growing season are the lowest for corn since 2021 but for soybeans they are higher than last year, USDA data showed.

• Some fertilizer prices surged due to the Middle East conflict.

• CBOT May corn CK26 was last up 4-3/4 cents at $4.50-1/2 per bushel, near a January 12 high reached on Monday.

SOYBEANS - Up 10 to 12 cents

• Climbing oil prices lifted CBOT soybean and soyoil futures, traders said.

• Crude oil benchmarks rose about 7%, soaring for a third session as the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran widened.

• Doubts over Chinese demand for U.S. soybeans and concerns about competition for global sales from Brazil kept a lid on prices, traders said.

• CBOT May soybeans SK26 were last up 11 cents at $11.75 per bushel, near a contract high reached on Monday.
