US Plains HRW Wheat-Basis bids rise at some Kansas, Oklahoma elevators

CHICAGO, Feb 6 (Reuters) - Basis bids for hard red winter wheat rose at grain elevators in parts of Kansas and Oklahoma on Friday and were steady elsewhere, dealers said.

• One elevator raised its basis bid because it was aiming to bring in supplies after shipping out orders that had been on the books, a dealer said.

• U.S. wheat export sales for 2025/26 were 373,877 metric tons in the week ended on January 29, up 3% from the prior four-week average, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture data issued on Thursday. Of that total, 63,731 metric tons were for hard red winter wheat.

• For 2026/27, the USDA reported total U.S. wheat export sales of 41,000 metric tons, including 33,500 metric tons of hard red winter wheat.

• K.C. March HRW wheat futures KWH26 were 7-1/4 cents lower at $5.31-1/4 per bushel by 11:55 a.m. CST (1755 GMT) on Friday.

• Much of the focus in futures markets was on soybeans, not wheat, after President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that China was considering buying more U.S. soybeans.
