CHICAGO, Feb 6 (Reuters) - Basis bids for soybeans were steady to down in the U.S. Midwest on Friday as rallying prices encouraged farmers to book sales, grain dealers said.
Soybean futures extended gains on the Chicago Board of Trade after climbing on Wednesday when President Donald Trump said top-importer China was considering buying more U.S. supplies than expected.
Most-active futures Sv1 were up about 6.5% for the week.
Processors in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Decatur, Indiana, lowered their basis bids by 15 cents per bushel and 5 cents, respectively.
A river terminal in Seneca, Illinois, dropped its bid by 7 cents.
Next week, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is expected to trim its estimate for 2025-26 U.S. soybean ending stocks in a monthly report and keep its corn carryover estimate unchanged from January, according to a Reuters survey of analysts.
