Middle East Crude-Oman, Dubai climb; Murban dips

SINGAPORE, Feb 5 (Reuters) - Middle East crude benchmarks Oman and Dubai gained on Thursday, supported by better demand outlook from India, while Murban dipped.

Indian refiners Indian Oil Corp. and Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd issued tenders this week seeking April-delivery crude. This came after U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Monday a trade agreement with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that included halting oil purchases from Russia.

SINGAPORE CASH DEALS

Cash Dubai's premium to swaps rose 7 cents to 79 cents a barrel.

Trafigura will deliver an April-loading Upper Zakum crude to TotalEnergies following the deals.

Russia has repeatedly supplied oil to Cuba in recent years, and will continue to do so, Russia's ambassador to Cuba Viktor Coronelli said in an interview with state news agency RIA.

Singapore's Aster Chemicals and Energy expects to complete several projects in the second half of this year to raise its refining capacity and import oil on supertankers to lower costs, its chief financial officer said.

Shell SHEL.L missed fourth-quarter profit expectations on Thursday with an 11% drop to the lowest level since early 2021 amid weaker oil prices, but kept its bumper share buyback programme.

India is open to buying oil from nations including Venezuela, depending on commercial viability, an Indian foreign ministry spokesperson said on Thursday.

Chevron CVX.N and TotalEnergies TTEF.PA are among the oil majors snapping up offshore blocks in West and Southern Africa as compelling geology, regulatory reforms, and the need to restock spur a hunt for the next Brazil.
