
LONDON, Feb 3 (Reuters) - Northwest European gasoline refinery profit margins fell on Tuesday by $1.40 to about $6.54 a barrel, weighed down by a rise in underlying crude prices.
About 14,000 metric tons of Eurobob E10 gasoline traded on barges in the Argus window, with Phillips 66 and Shell selling to Varo and Trafigura.
A total of 6,000 tons of E5 gasoline barges traded on Argus, with BP selling to MB Energy and Varo.
A further 1,000 ton Eurobob E5 barge traded in the Platts window, with BP selling to Trafigura.
The U.S. Treasury Department on Tuesday issued a proposed rule governing how biofuel makers can access a $1-per-gallon tax credit for low-carbon transportation fuels, including aviation fuel.
French consumption of ethanol in gasoline rose 15% to 19 million hectolitres in 2025 as gasoline car registrations climbed, producer group Bioethanol France said on Tuesday, adding that it expets the trend to continue.
Meanwhile, EU-27 and UK gasoline and blending component exports to other regions averaged 875,000 barrels per day in January, against 806,000 bpd in December.
