Venture Global taps Worley to expand LNG export terminal in Louisiana

ReutersFeb 2, 2026 12:47 PM

- U.S.-based LNG company Venture Global VG.N has entered into an engineering, procurement and construction contract with Worley Field Services to build the second phase of its CP2 export facility in Louisiana, according to a regulatory filing on Monday.

Commercial activity has picked up in the U.S. LNG sector after President Donald Trump lifted a moratorium on new export permits soon after coming into office last year.

After the completion of both phases, the CP2 facility will have a total capacity of 28 million metric tons per annum, which could enable Venture Global to leapfrog Cheniere Energy LNG.N and become the largest U.S. exporter of the super-chilled gas.

The company has become the second-largest LNG exporter in the country only four years after it built its first plant, the Calcasieu Pass in Louisiana.
