Jan 29 (Reuters) - Coterra Energy CTRA.N and Devon Energy DVN.N are in advanced talks to merge in what would be the largest oil and gas deal in the U.S. shale industry in almost two years, Financial Times reported on Thursday.
The deal, likely to be billed as a merger of equals, could come together as soon as early next week, the report added.
Earlier this month, Reuters reported the two companies were in talks for a possible merger.
