CLIVE, Iowa, Jan 27 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday said lawmakers were working on a deal to allow year-round sales of higher-ethanol E15 gasoline blends in the U.S. and he would sign a bill on it without delay.
"They're very close to getting it done," Trump told supporters at a rally in Clive, Iowa, although an attempt to pass such legislation in a funding bill last week fell through.
Instead, Republican lawmakers said they plan to create a task force to study the issue, sparking criticism from farm groups and Midwest ethanol advocates.
