US crude, fuel stocks rose last week, EIA says

- U.S. crude, gasoline and distillate inventories rose last week, the Energy Information Administration said on Thursday.

Crude stocks rose by 3.6 million barrels to 426 million barrels in the week ended January 16, the EIA said, compared with analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 1.13-million-barrel rise.

Crude stocks at the Cushing, Oklahoma, delivery hub USOICC=ECI rose by 1.48 million barrels in the week, the EIA said.

Refinery crude runs USOICR=ECI fell by 354,000 barrels per day, the EIA said, while utilization rates USOIRU=ECI dropped by 2 percentage points in the week to 93.3%.

U.S. gasoline stocks USOILG=ECI rose by 6 million barrels in the week to 257 million barrels, the EIA said, compared with analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 1.71-million-barrel build.​

Distillate stockpiles USOILD=ECI, which include diesel and heating oil, increased by 3.35 million barrels to 132.6 million barrels, versus expectations for a 162,000-barrel fall, the EIA data showed.

Net U.S. crude imports USOICI=ECI fell last week by 27,000 bpd, EIA said.
