Jan 22 (Reuters) - Greek energy and metals group Metlen MTLN.L said on Thursday it had signed a strategic partnership with the Tsakos Group to help develop one of the country's largest hybrid renewable power projects.
Metlen will hold a 40% stake in a new joint venture with Tsakos, which will own the remaining 60%. The venture plans to build and operate a hybrid power plant in central Greece combining a 251.9 megawatt photovoltaic park with a 375 MW-per-hour energy storage system, Metlen said.
The group added that construction was expected to begin in 2026, with completion targeted for early 2028.
