CBOT wheat ends lower, but underpinned by weather concerns

CHICAGO, Jan 21 (Reuters) - Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures closed lower on Wednesday as traders weighed ample global supplies against weather concerns in some regions.

• CBOT March soft red winter wheat WH26 settled down 2-1/2 cents at $5.07-3/4 per bushel.

• K.C. March hard red winter wheat KWH26 ended down 3-1/4 cents at $5.19-3/4 a bushel and Minneapolis March spring wheat MWEH26 rose 1-3/4 cents to finish at $5.63-3/4 a bushel.

• A winter storm is forecast to bring beneficial moisture to the southern Plains late this week, but frigid temperatures in its wake could threaten winter wheat in areas lacking protective snow cover. GRA/

• Euronext wheat futures steadied on Wednesday after dropping a day earlier, supported by an easing in the euro as comments by U.S. President Donald Trump tempered investor jitters over his push to acquire Greenland.
