BUDAPEST, Jan 15 (Reuters) - Hungarian oil group MOL MOLB.BU is expected to sign the first milestone deal to buy a majority stake in Serbia's Russian-owned NIS oil company NIIS.BEL in the coming days, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto announced on Thursday.
Speaking in Belgrade after talks with Serbia's energy minister, Szijjarto told a briefing that once the deal between MOL and Gazprom Neft SIBN.MM is signed, the document would be submitted to the United States authorities for approval. The U.S. imposed sanctions on NIS in October.
