CHICAGO, Jan 13 (Reuters) - Basis bids for U.S. corn were mostly steady to slightly higher on Tuesday at Midwestern grain elevators and processors as falling prices slowed farmer selling, traders said.
Farmers were sitting on their hands and forgoing crop sales after corn and soy prices dropped on Monday and Tuesday, they said.
The corn basis rose by 2 cents per bushel at a rail terminal in Cincinnati, Ohio.
A grain elevator in Council Bluffs, Iowa, raised its corn basis by 1 cent and its soy basis by 2 cents.
The soy basis was steady elsewhere.
U.S. corn futures Cv1 slid to a fresh three-month low, extending prior-day declines triggered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's outlook for massive supplies following a record-large U.S. harvest. Soybean Sv1 futures touched a 2-1/2 month low.
