CHICAGO, Jan 13 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for U.S. soybeans were steady to stronger at processing locations on Tuesday, traders said, as a decline in prices discouraged farmers from selling their crops.
Grain and soybean futures stayed under pressure after falling on Monday, when the U.S. Department of Agriculture issued bearish crop reports.
The USDA released bigger-than-expected estimates for 2025/26 U.S. and world ending stocks for soybeans, corn and wheat.
Traders questioned an increase in USDA's monthly estimate for the amount of U.S. corn used domestically for feed and residual purposes because cattle inventories remain low.
Corn basis bids were largely steady.
On the Chicago Board of Trade, March corn futures CH26 were down 3/4 cent at $4.20-3/4 per bushel at 8:50 a.m. CST (1450 GMT) and touched the lowest price since August 15.
