US military says it apprehended vessel Sophia in international waters

WASHINGTON, Jan 7 (Reuters) - The United States has apprehended sanctioned vessel M/T Sophia in international waters and is escorting it to the United States, the U.S. Southern Command said on Wednesday.
"In a pre-dawn action this morning, the Department of War, in coordination with the Department of Homeland Security, apprehended a stateless, sanctioned dark fleet motor tanker without incident," the military said.
