Italy set to vote in favour of Mercosur trade deal, EU source says

ROME, Jan 6 (Reuters) - Italy will vote in favour of the Mercosur trade deal at Friday's meeting of European Union ambassadors, dropping Rome's opposition to the accord, a European Union source said.
Earlier on Tuesday, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni welcomed the European Commission's efforts to bolster support for farmers ahead of sensitive EU negotiations on the long-delayed Mercosur trade agreement.
