
CHICAGO, Jan 5 (Reuters) - Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures ended higher on Monday as broad buying lifted grains and other commodity prices, traders said.
Fund buying also boosted grain markets at the start of the year, they said.
Traders monitored Russia's war on Ukraine, a major corn and wheat exporter, as Moscow carried out missile strikes on Ukraine's second-biggest city.
Ukrainian exports of key agricultural commodities fell to 3.28 million metric tons in December from 3.58 million metric tons in November, mostly due to smaller shipments of wheat and soybeans, traders union UGA said.
CBOT March soft red winter wheat WH26 closed 6 cents higher at $5.12-1/2 per bushel.
K.C. March hard red winter wheat KWH26 ended 5-3/4 cents higher at $5.20-3/4 per bushel.
Minneapolis March spring wheat MWEH26 was up 1/2 cent at $5.71-1/4 per bushel at the close of trading.
