
Dec 30 - Chicago Board of Trade corn futures ticked down Tuesday after trading within a narrow range as expectations of large South American crops hung over the market.
Farmers in Argentina have planted 84.2% of the estimated 2025/2026 corn area, the Buenos Aires Grains Exchange said on Tuesday.
Argentina is the world's third largest exporter of corn.
Trade was limited between the Christmas and New Year holidays, with traders booking profits and exiting the market, said analysts.
CBOT March corn CH26 settled 1-3/4 cents lower at $4.40-1/2 per bushel.
