
CHICAGO, Dec 30 (Reuters) - Following are U.S. expectations for the resumption of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade at 8:30 a.m. CST (1430 GMT) on Tuesday:
NOTE: Wednesday is the first notice day for deliveries against CBOT January soybean, soymeal and soyoil futures contracts.
WHEAT - Up 1 to 2 cents per bushel
Wheat futures head higher after a two-session slide, supported in thin technical trade by escalating tensions in the Black Sea grain region.
Russian attack drones hit two civilian vessels entering a Ukrainian Black Sea port to load wheat, the Ukrainian navy said.
Hopes of an end to the war in Ukraine were dented on Monday after Russia accused Kyiv of trying to attack President Vladimir Putin's residence, pledging retaliation in response. Ukraine dismissed the claim, calling it a lie intended to derail peace talks.
Agricultural consultancy Sovecon raised its 2025-26 Russian wheat exports forecast by 0.4 million metric tons to 44.6 million tons.
CBOT March soft red winter wheat WH26 last traded up 1-1/2 cents at $5.14-1/2 per bushel. K.C. March hard red winter wheat KWH26 was last up 1/4 cent at $5.27-1/2 a bushel while Minneapolis March spring wheat MWEH26 was last down 2-1/4 cents at $5.77 a bushel.
CORN - Mixed, up 1/2 cent to down 1/2 per bushel
Corn futures seen narrowly mixed ahead of the daily pause in trade, awaiting fresh direction. The benchmark March contract CH26 fell 1.7% on Monday in a setback from a six-week high set last week.
Expectations of large South American crops hang over the market, limiting rallies.
CBOT March corn CH26 was last up 1/2 cent at $4.42-3/4 per bushel.
SOYBEANS - Up 3 to 4 cents per bushel
Soybeans trading modestly higher on bargain buying after a two-session slide. News of fresh export sales of U.S. soy may lend support.
Rallies capped by expectations of a bumper soybean harvest from top exporter Brazil.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture confirmed private sales of 136,000 metric tons of U.S. soybeans to China and another 231,000 tons to unknown destinations, all for delivery in the 2025-26 marketing year that began on September 1.
CBOT March soybeans SH26 were last up 3-3/4 cents at $10.67-1/4 per bushel.
