CBOT wheat lower ahead of peace talks

CHICAGO, Dec 26 (Reuters) - Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures tipped lower on Friday after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said he will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday for continuing talks on ending the war in Ukraine.

• Wheat futures had gained earlier in the week over worries about war escalation in the Black Sea export zone.

• Many traders have exited out of their positions ahead of Christmas and the New Year market holidays.

• Dryness has added risk to the dormant wheat crop in the U.S. Plains, an analyst note said.

• CBOT March soft red winter wheat WH26 settled 2-3/4 cents lower at $5.19 per bushel.

• K.C. March hard red winter wheat KWH26 ended 1/2 cent lower at $5.33-1/2 a bushel.

• Minneapolis March spring wheat MWEH26 ended 1 cent lower at $5.79-1/4 per bushel.
