US Plains HRW Wheat-Basis bids flat to lower

- Spot basis bids for hard red winter (HRW) wheat were steady to down at elevators in the southern U.S. Plains on Wednesday.

  • Dealers said trade was limited this week ahead of the Christmas holiday.

  • The wheat crop in the U.S. Southern Plains is still too dry, according to forecaster Commodity Weather Group.

  • Protein premiums were unchanged for all grades of wheat shipped to and through Kansas City. KCBT/SCA

  • K.C. March hard red winter wheat futures KWH26 were up 6 cents at $5.34 a bushel.
