US Plains HRW Wheat-Basis bids flat to weaker ahead of holiday

- Spot basis bids for hard red winter (HRW) wheat stayed flat or lower at elevators in the southern U.S. Plains on Tuesday, according to dealers.

  • Dealers said trade was very slow with the Christmas holiday approaching.

  • Dry weather continued for Southern Plains wheat, according to Commodity Weather Group.

  • Protein premiums fell for wheat with 11.0% to 11.8% protein and for wheat with 13.8% and 14.0% protein on Tuesday, and were unchanged for all other grades. KCBT/SCA

  • K.C. March hard red winter wheat futures KWH26 were up 6-3/4 cents at $5.28 a bushel.
