CHICAGO, Dec 22 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for hard red winter (HRW) wheat stayed flat at elevators in the southern U.S. Plains on Monday, according to dealers.
Dealers said trade was limited ahead of the Christmas holiday.
Dry weather was expected in the Southern Plains with showers providing some patches of relief.
Warm temperatures are expected to reduce the risk for winterkill for crops, while continued drier weather would maintain low moisture for winter wheat, according to forecaster Vaisala.
Protein premiums rose by 3 cents for wheat with 12.0% to 12.2% protein and were unchanged for all other grades on Monday. KCBT/SCA
K.C. March hard red winter wheat futures KWH26 were up 6 cents at $5.21-1/4 a bushel.
