ReutersDec 19, 2025 2:17 PM

- Following are U.S. expectations for the resumption of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade at 8:30 a.m. CST (1430 GMT) on Friday:

WHEAT - Steady

  • CBOT wheat Wv1 hovered near an October 23 low it touched on Wednesday and was headed for its biggest weekly drop since June.

  • Prices faced pressure from ample global supplies, along with a firmer dollar and talks to end the war in exporter Ukraine, analysts said.

  • Ukrainian farmers harvested about 56.6 million metric tons of grain from 93.5% of the sown area as of December 18, the economy ministry said.

  • CBOT March soft red winter wheat WH26 last traded up 1/4 cent at $5.08 per bushel. K.C. March hard red winter wheat KWH26 last traded flat at $5.17 per bushel, and Minneapolis March spring wheat MWEH26 last traded up 1/4 cent at $5.73-1/4 per bushel.

CORN - Steady to down 1 cent per bushel

  • CBOT corn Cv1 was nearly unchanged overnight, as strong U.S. export demand continued to underpin the market.

  • Futures have bounced slightly after falling on Tuesday to the lowest price since November 24, and traders said they were watching for potential short-covering to emerge.

  • CBOT March corn CH26 was last down 1/2 cent at $4.44 per bushel.

SOYBEANS - Down 1 to 2 cents

  • CBOT soybeans Sv1 set their lowest level since October 24.

  • Exporters sold 134,000 metric tons of U.S. soybeans to China, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in a daily reporting system.

  • Still, traders said they were concerned Chinese demand may be slowing.

  • China has purchased more than 7 million metric tons of U.S. soybeans since October, three traders told Reuters, putting it more than halfway toward a 12-million-ton target cited by some senior U.S. officials.

  • China's Sinograin sold 32.7% of the 550,000 metric tons of soybeans offered in its third auction this month, consultancy Mysteel said, down from 77.5% in the first auction.

  • Crop weather looks largely favorable in Brazil, which competes with the U.S. for global export sales, traders said.

  • CBOT January soybeans SF26 were last down 1-1/4 cent at $10.51 per bushel.
