Dec 15 (Reuters) - Brad Jacobs will step down as chairman at XPO XPO.N and GXO Logistics GXO.N, the companies said on Monday.
Jacobs is often touted as an M&A guru, building multibillion-dollar logistics, waste management and equipment rentals firms.
He founded XPO Logistics, now XPO, in 2011 and has served as its chairman since then. He eventually spun off XPO's warehouse business into GXO Logistics and later separated its truck brokerage business into RXO. Jacobs will serve as XPO's special advisor through June next year.
Mario Harik will take on the role of XPO's chairman while continuing as CEO. Patrick Byrne will succeed Jacobs at GXO.
