CHICAGO, Dec 9 (Reuters) - Spot soybean and corn basis bids were steady to higher in the U.S. Midwest on Tuesday as selling picked up and industry players reviewed the U.S. Department of Agriculture's monthly supply and demand report that was released earlier in the day.
The USDA left its U.S. soybean export forecast unchanged as sales to China have resumed after the top importer shunned purchases for months during a bruising trade war with Washington.
The USDA pegged soybean exports in the 2025/26 season that ends on August 31 at a 13-year low of 1.635 billion bushels, down 13% from the prior year. Ending stocks were unchanged from a month earlier at 290 million bushels.
Corn exports have been robust, and the USDA on Tuesday raised its U.S. corn export forecast as sales of the grain to global buyers have been stronger than anticipated.
Chicago Board of Trade March corn futures CH26 settled up 4-1/4 cents $4.48 per bushel, pushing through chart resistance at its 200-day moving average near $4.47.
CBOT January soybeans SF26 settled down 6-1/2 cents at $10.87-1/4 per bushel after hitting $10.84-1/2, the contract's lowest since October 30.
