US Cash Grains-Corn, soy bids mixed as selling ticks up

CHICAGO, Dec 9 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for corn and soybeans were steady to mixed in the U.S. Midwest on Tuesday as farmer selling increased slightly after the previous week's snowstorms stalled activity.

• The U.S. Department of Agriculture will release its monthly supply-demand report at 11:00 a.m. CT (1700 GMT).

• China does not appear to be buying as much soy as U.S. officials said it would, and Brazilian soybeans are cheaper than U.S. supplies, analysts said.

• Chinese trade data showed that the country is on track to import a record amount of soybeans this year, much of it from Brazil.

• Chicago Board of Trade March corn futures CH26 were last 3/4 cent higher at $4.44-1/2 a bushel and January soybeans SF26 were down 5-3/4 cents at $10.88 a bushel. GRA/
