
CHICAGO, Dec 4 (Reuters) - Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures closed modestly higher on Thursday in range-bound trade, buoyed by spillover strength from corn and soybeans.
CBOT March soft red winter wheat WH26 settled up 2 cents at $5.40-1/4 per bushel, staying inside this week's trading range.
K.C. March hard red winter wheat KWH26 ended up 4-1/2 cents at $5.34 a bushel while Minneapolis March spring wheat MWEH26 declined, closing down 3-1/4 cents at $5.73 a bushel.
Statistics Canada reported the country's total 2025 wheat crop at nearly 40 million tons, above an average of trade expectations for 38.5 million tons.
In a backdated weekly report, the U.S. Department of Agriculture reported net export sales of U.S. wheat in the week ended October 30 at 505,400 metric tons for shipment in the 2025/26 marketing year, in line with analyst estimates for 250,000 to 650,000 tons.
Market players are starting to adjust positions ahead of the USDA's December 9 monthly supply/demand report.
