CHICAGO, Dec 4 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for hard red winter wheat held mostly steady in the U.S. Plains in slow trading on Thursday as farmer selling remained light, grain merchants said.
HRW wheat futures on the Chicago Board of Trade edged higher on Thursday after declines in the prior session. The market was capped by ample global supplies.
Farmer selling has been limited as cash prices remain below recent highs.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture said net U.S. wheat export sales in the week ended October 30 totaled 505,400 metric tons for shipment in the 2025/26 marketing year, in line with trade estimates for 250,000 to 650,000 tons. The total included 148,400 tons in HRW wheat sales.
Statistics Canada said the country's all wheat production in 2025 jumped 11.2% to 39.955 million metric tons, above the average trade estimate for 38.49 million tons.
K.C. March hard red winter wheat KWH26 futures last traded 4-1/2 cents higher at $5.34 per bushel.
