CHICAGO, Dec 4 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for soybeans were mostly steady at U.S. Midwest processing plants on Thursday and steady to higher at interior and river elevators, supported by slow farmer sales.
Spot corn basis bids were steady to higher at barge-loading river terminals and flat to lower at processing plants. Basis bids at ethanol plants held mostly steady after rising at several locations earlier in the week amid strong demand.
Farmer selling interest was generally slow on Thursday after price declines earlier in the week.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture on Thursday reported weekly corn export sales for the week ending October 30 at 1.995 million metric tons and soybean sales at 1.249 million tones, both in line with trade expectations. Soybean sales included China's first purchases of the marketing year.
CBOT March corn futures CH26 were 3 cents higher at midmorning on Thursday at $4.46-1/2 a bushel and January soybeans SF26 were up 4-1/2 cents at $11.20-1/4 a bushel. GRA/
