Kazakhstan's energy ministry activates plan to redirect oil exports after CPC attack

- Kazakhstan's energy ministry said on Saturday it had activated a plan to redirect oil exports to alternative routes after the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) halted operations following a Ukrainian naval drone attack.

CPC, which handles more than 1% of global oil, said earlier on Saturday that a mooring at its Black Sea terminal was significantly damaged by the attack.

Kazakhstan's energy ministry called the attack unacceptable.

"The CPC pipeline system is an international energy project, and any forceful action against its facilities poses direct risks to global energy security and causes significant damage to the economic interests of the consortium members, including the Republic of Kazakhstan", it said in a statement.
