CBOT wheat futures edge down on a day of light trade

- Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures ended lower on a day of light trade after the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday.

  • CBOT March soft red winter wheat WH26 settled down 2 cents to close at $5.38-1/2 per bushel.

  • K.C. March hard red winter wheat KWH26 ended down 2-1/2 cents at $5.27-1/2 a bushel, and Minneapolis December spring wheat MWEH26 traded flat at $5.78-1/2 a bushel.

  • Trading ended early at 12:05 p.m. CST.

  • Ukraine completed 2026 winter sowing at 6.43 million hectares, and winter wheat dominated the sowing area with almost 4.7 million hectares, the economy ministry said on Friday.

  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported weekly net export sales of wheat for the week ended October 16 at 341,300 metric tons.
