CHICAGO, Nov 28 (Reuters) - Chicago Board of Trade soybean futures climbed on Friday on buying from China during a day of light trade after the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday
CBOT January soybeans SF26 closed 6-1/4 cents higher at $11.37-3/4 per bushel.
CBOT January soymeal SMF26 settled $1.70 lower at $318.70 per short ton, and January soyoil BOF26 firmed 1.02 cents to end at 52.05 cents per pound.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported weekly net export sales of soybeans for the week ended October 16 at 1,108,000 metric tons.
U.S. exporters sold 273,988 tons of soybeans to China for 2025/2026 delivery, the USDA reported.
Traders have been closely monitoring China's demand for U.S. soybeans after the nations struck a trade truce in late October. China had shunned U.S. soy prior to the agreement due to its trade dispute with Washington and shifted its buying to South America.
The Brazilian Agriculture Ministry said on Thursday it was notified by Chinese authorities that five Brazilian soy exporters were banned from shipping the grain to the Asian country.
