CBOT Calls-Wheat down 2 cents, corn down 1-up 1, soy down 1-up 2

- Following are U.S. expectations for the resumption of grain and soy complex trading at the Chicago Board of Trade at 8:30 a.m. CST (1430 GMT) on Friday.

NOTE: Markets were closed for the Thanksgiving holiday and trading was scheduled to end early on Friday at 12:05 p.m. CST (1805 GMT). CME Group CME.O said its Globex futures and options markets pre-opened at 07:00 Central Time (1300 GMT) and open at 07:30 CT, after an earlier halt.

WHEAT - Down 2 cents per bushel

  • Wheat mixed to lower as favorable weather in growing regions and ample supply weigh.

  • Ukraine completed 2026 winter sowing at 6.43 million hectares, and winter wheat dominated the sowing area with almost 4.7 million hectares, the economy ministry said on Friday.

  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported weekly net export sales of wheat for the week ended October 16 at 341,300 metric tons.

  • On Wednesday, CBOT March soft red winter wheat WH26 settled up 1-1/4 cents to close at $5.40-1/2 per bushel.

  • K.C. March hard red winter wheat KWH26 ended up 1-3/4 cents at $5.30 a bushel, and Minneapolis December spring wheat MWEH26 settled down 2-1/4 cents at $5.78-1/2 a bushel.

CORN - Down 1 cent to up 1 cent per bushel

  • Corn mixed to higher on continued buying.

  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported weekly net export sales of corn for the week ended October 16 at 3,394,100 metric tons.

  • U.S. exporters sold 273,988 tons of corn to unknown destinations for 2025/2026 delivery, the USDA reported.

  • On Wednesday, CBOT March corn CH26 climbed 7 cents to end at $4.45-1/4 a bushel.

SOYBEANS - Down 1 cent to up 2 cents per bushel

  • Soybean futures mixed on follow-through buying from Wednesday's trade, with support from Chinese purchases of soybeans.

  • The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported weekly net export sales of soybeans for the week ended October 16 at 1,108,000 metric tons.

  • U.S. exporters sold 273,988 tons of soybeans to China for 2025/2026 delivery, the USDA reported.

  • The most-active soybean contract Sv1 on Wednesday ended up 6-3/4 cents at $11.31-1/2 a bushel.
